Stella looked confused, staring up at her parents. They seemed to be crying. Why were Mommy and Daddy crying?

Her Daddy held that thing in his hand, the one that flashed very bright light and always left spots in her vision. Her Mommy had her hands clasped in front of her, tears pricking her eyes.

Stella didn't understand. Her Daddy put her in a new outfit, one that was bright red- one of her favorite colors- with a little green hat. Called her his 'little strawberry'. Then both her parents started crying about how cute she was.

She didn't understand why that was such a bad thing. So tears started welling up in her eyes, her tiny cheeks turning pink, and she began hiccupping.

Immediately she was in her Mommy's arms, being held and kissed. Her Mommy and Daddy were now laughing. That made her feel better. She always liked hearing them laugh. 

"Oh my berry baby!" Her Mommy laughed as she kissed her cheek. "You are too cute!"

"We do have the cutest little strawberry." Her Daddy smiled, leaning in to kiss Stella's other cheek.

This was more like it. Stella loved it when her parents laughed and gave her kisses. It made everything so much better!
